When was the last time you were really thirsty? I recently hiked the new
trail on Badger Mountain near my home—it was a six mile up and back down. Nice
day for a hike, sunny with a light breeze. An amazing 70 degrees. I took water along and drank some
periodically, but when I got home, I was really thirsty and guzzled down
another glass of water before I took a shower. Water is the best thirst
quencher. The Holy Spirit is a thirst quencher, too. He provides refreshing
teachings, guidance, remembrance and understanding of God’s Word for which we
are all thirsting. Just ask…and He will provide you with the best words you can
imagine. Just as Jesus taught the Samaritan woman at the well…"Everyone who drinks from this water
will get thirsty again. But whoever drinks from the water that I will give him
will never get thirsty again—ever! In fact, the water I will give him will
become a well of water springing up within him for eternal life." John 4:13-14 HCSB. Water that provides
eternal life. For what more could we ask?
Prayer
~ Holy Spirit, please be poured out on not only me, but on my family, friends
and neighbors, as well. May we be filled to overflowing and declare Your
blessing to everyone we meet.
