You don’t usually associate the word “impatient”
with the Holy Spirit. Impatience is not a virtue for those “walking uprightly.”
It is totally frowned upon in Christian circles and especially among parents
who are trying to raise their children to be Christ-like. It is a challenge for
anyone not to experience some impatience at one time or another during their
lifetime. Life stresses—especially when raising children, commuting, or waiting
in line at the grocery store—can bring on feelings of impatience. Here Micah,
filled with the Holy Spirit, prophesied the Lord’s judgment to the common folks
of Judah. The virtue of patience is a part of the fruit of the Spirit. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy,
peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control;
against such things there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23.
Everyone’s life is moving toward or away
from a purpose. Is your purpose hampered by impatience?
