Oh, that rebellious household. Those
Israelite children just were just a disobedient, stubborn bunch. Unwilling to
listen, so God sends Ezekiel—filled with the Holy Spirit—with a message. The Holy
Spirit set Ezekiel on his feet and then promised to give him the words to say. Let the one who listens, listen and let the
one who refuses, refuse…. If you were there—taken into captivity in Babylon—would
you still be rebellious, or would you listen to God’s message? The message that
followed was not a fluffy prophesy. Their
sins had brought God judgment on the Israelites. The visions that Ezekiel was
given were meant to teach those Israelites that they needed to change their
ways. Is that good for us today? Let the
one who listens, listen and let the one who refuses, refuse.
Prayer
~ Holy Spirit, I’m listening to You…speak to me. Open my mouth and give me the
words to say—that I may glorify and worship You with all my heart, soul, mind
and strength.
