imply Ask

Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Matthew 7:7-8

Once again listen to Jesus’ words. Ask, knock, seek. He wants us to ask Him for what we need—especially spiritually. What do you need—spiritually? Forgiveness? Grace to forgive others? Endurance? Hope? Maybe just Love? Consider the spiritual fruit in Galatians 5:22-23… love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Are you lacking in those? Ask and receive. Or do you need wisdom to identify and use your spiritual gifts? Are you seeking ways to serve and please God? Find your gifts and as you serve Him, it will be to His glory and honor, not yours…and you will find peace and satisfaction in your efforts.
Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be unaware. ... For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, and to another the effecting of miracles, and to another prophecy, and to another the distinguishing of spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, and to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually just as He wills. ... And God has appointed in the church, first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, various kinds of tongues. ... But earnestly desire the greater gifts. And I show you a still more excellent way. 1 Corinthians 12:1, 8-11, 28, 31
Read more about spiritual gifts in 1 Corinthians 12, as well as Romans 12, Ephesians 4:7-13, and 1 Peter 4:10. To serve God is the highest honor that anyone could experience.

RSVP: Jesus has invited us over and over to ASK Him for whatever we need. How will you respond to Him today?

Prayer ~ Jesus, Thank you for teaching us to ASK—as well as to knock and seek. It is an honor to ask You for the very things we need—knowing that You already know our needs…and our wants. Please continue to guide, direct and give us wisdom that we would come before You boldly asking for needs for others, not just ourselves. We praise and worship You.
