Go

And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Matthew 28:18-20

After the “love God” and “love your neighbor as yourself” commandment, what did Jesus teach the most or with most emphasis? I think that it is this passage in Matthew known as the Great Commission—Go into the world and teach others about Jesus. That is the most important thing that we can do in our lives—tell others about Jesus. We don’t have to go far…our own home, our neighborhood, local stores, shops, cafes, restaurants, gyms, clubs—wherever you meet people. Do they know Jesus? What do you have to do to make disciples? To begin with, they need to know WHO Jesus is—and this is the perfect time of the year to spread the news that Jesus is not only the reason for the season, He is the reason for life. In this same passage He promised that he would be with us always. Always! What a comfort. No matter where we are or what we are doing, Jesus is with us. When we GO to tell someone about Him…or invite them to have a cup of coffee with us, He is there. He can easily be part of our conversation. Giving grace and salt to our every word. People can see that even if we don’t speak His name in every sentence, He is part of our life. Express the joy—share the struggles you’ve had and how God has helped you. Others will want Jesus in their lives, too. Afraid? Ask Jesus to help you. That is part of His plan, too. Ask and you will receive… whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do the things that are pleasing in His sight. 1 John 3:22. So—Go.

RSVP: Jesus is inviting to be obedient to Him. Go and make disciples—teaching others about Him. How will you respond to Him today?

Prayer ~ Jesus, we want to be obedient to you—to make disciples. Give us grace to speak to others and to live in such a way that we draw them to You. Thank You for Your promise to always be with us.
