Jesus answered them and said, "Truly, truly, I
say to you, you seek Me, not because you saw signs, but because you ate of the
loaves and were filled. Do not work for the food which perishes, but for the
food which endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you, for
on Him the Father, God, has set His seal." John 6:26-27 NASB
What does
“Eternal Security” mean to you? Jesus had just fed 5,000 men, plus women and
children. People were looking for another hand-out, but what they needed was
spiritual food—and that is what He was offering. Eternal life. Eternal
security. The only way to the Father in Heaven is by knowing Jesus the Son—so He
tells us…I am the way, and the truth, and
the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. John 14:6. That controversial
statement along with Jesus’ resurrection from the dead are a couple of the
major differences between Christianity and other religions. Another important
view of Christianity is that everyone will live forever—either in heaven or
hell. Each person must decide for themselves—in whom do you choose to believe?
Does your decision provide you with eternal security?
Training Tip – Discuss with your family what eternal security
means…a home in heaven with Jesus. He has promised...In My Father's house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I
would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. John 14:2. On your next family art day have your
children create a drawing or painting of their idea of heaven.
Lord Jesus—we look forward to seeing the home You
are preparing for us in heaven—for now help us to enjoy our home here. Please
give us wisdom and show us ways to share Your love with others in our family,
neighborhood and community.
