Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. - James 4:7 NKJV
Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble." - 1 Peter 5:5 NKJV
Submit to God. There is no one more worthy of our respect and willingness to yield our will to than our Heavenly Father. How do you choose to submit to God-is it just by going to church on Sunday--or do you try to live a holy and righteous life--following God's great Ten Commandments? Those commandments are just that--commandments not suggestions--and they are still valid. Jesus chose to follow His Father's plan. If we follow His guidance, then our life will be eternally secure. We each choose how we live our days--moment by moment. The choice is ours.
Training Tip – How are your children doing on memorizing those Ten Commandments? Work on those again today, if necessary.
Choices-responsibilities-privileges. Sometimes it is good to offer a trade of privileges for responsibilities. If you child wants to play with friends until suppertime then their home tasks, like cleaning their room, feeding the dog or cleaning up after her, or taking out the trash, and then they a can have the privilege of playing with friends. That makes it their choice - when work is done, you can play.
Lord Jesus, thank you for your example that You did what Father God asked You to do. You were submissive--which is not a bad thing. It is a good attitude and spiritual characteristic to have or develop.
Happy Anniversary, Kim & Lisa—Love & Blessings!
