Watch over your heart with all diligence, for from it flow the springs of life. - Proverbs 4:23
Whatever is in your heart spills out--goodness, kindness, love, joy--or hate, bitterness, envy, jealousy. Remembering the events of 9/11 it may create feelings of sadness, fear, or bitterness. But watch over your heart--ask God to take away fear and to protect you from evil. But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one. 2 Thessalonians 3:3
Training Tip – We recently got a wasp trap to "trap" the yellow jackets that were flying
around our outdoor picnic table. We were surprised by the number that we caught in the first couple of days. That trap is a good example of the way the Lord protects us--keeping evil away from us. Whether it is a wasp trap or mosquito repellant keeping us from getting a mosquito bite--we are protected from little evil bugs in our lives. God will protect us from the big unseen "evils" in our lives. As a family just ask Him to do it.
Lord God, May the evil deeds of the wicked come to an end! But make the innocent secure, O righteous God, you who examine inner thoughts and motives! Psalms 7:9 (NET).
