What Does the Resurrection of Jesus Mean to You?

Prayer – Lord Jesus, Your resurrection is the key point in the salvation of mankind. If it didn’t happen—we are all doomed. I trust the power of God and the testimony of the Bible. You were resurrected from the dead—and one day we all will be. Thank you! I look forward to joining You in Heaven one day—and ultimately living in the New Heaven and New Earth.

I have told all your people about your justice. I have not been afraid to speak out, as you, O LORD, well know. I have not kept the good news of your justice hidden in my heart; I have talked about your faithfulness and saving power. I have told everyone in the great assembly of your unfailing love and faithfulness. LORD, don't hold back your tender mercies from me. Let your unfailing love and faithfulness always protect me. For troubles surround me—too many to count! My sins pile up so high I can't see my way out. They outnumber the hairs on my head. I have lost all courage. Please, LORD, rescue me! Come quickly, LORD, and help me. Psalm 40:9-13 NLT

Meditate. Consider God listening to our prayers.

It's a beautiful Spring.
Dogwoods are blooming.
Give me rest--like Jesus had for three days!
Isn’t that often our plea towards God? Come quickly, LORD, and help me. Right now, that is my heartfelt and deepest yearning! I’ve been sick just too much this year. I need a healing touch…and I know lots of people have been praying for me. Kidney stones…and now ear and sinus infections with the cruddy cough that have left me without any energy. How can I even consider a family summer vacation when I just want to lie down and rest?

When was the last time that you spoke to anyone about the Lord’s justice or about His unfailing love and faithfulness? I know that He is faithful…even when troubles surround me. I put my trust in Him. My troubles are miniscule compared with some other people—like those in Israel, and in numerous places where there have been recent tornados, earthquakes, flooding, wars or rumors of wars, and famines. We are so blessed here. May I challenge you to speak up with the Good News? The Resurrection is still a topic that can spark a conversation. Ask someone today what the resurrection of Jesus means to them.

Verses of Salvation ~ As for us, we can't help but thank God for you, dear brothers and sisters loved by the Lord. We are always thankful that God chose you to be among the first to experience salvation—a salvation that came through the Spirit who makes you holy and through your belief in the truth. He called you to salvation when we told you the Good News; now you can share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. With all these things in mind, dear brothers and sisters, stand firm and keep a strong grip on the teaching we passed on to you both in person and by letter. Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal comfort and a wonderful hope, comfort you and strengthen you in every good thing you do and say. 2 Thessalonians 2:13-17 NLT
