Fruit of Spirit

Prayer – Lord, help me to grow in maturity and with Your grace to be filled more each day with the fruit of the Spirit. Produce that fruit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control in my life—that I may honor and serve You more diligently.

But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things! - Galatians 5:22-23 NLT

Meditate. Consider God’s guidance in scripture.

God has given us everything…and certainly more than we deserve. Feast on His words today and grow closer to Him in your relationship with Him. Relationships are what life is all about—that is what is important. Strive to maintain an ever growing and more deeply loving connection with God and with others. His words are more powerful and convincing than anything I could ever say on my own.

By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world's corruption caused by human desires. In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God's promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone. The more you grow like this, the more productive and useful you will be in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But those who fail to develop in this way are shortsighted or blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their old sins. So, dear brothers and sisters, work hard to prove that you really are among those God has called and chosen. Do these things, and you will never fall away. Then God will give you a grand entrance into the eternal Kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. 2 Peter 1:3-11 NLT

The earth is the LORD's, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to him. For he laid the earth's foundation on the seas and built it on the ocean depths. Who may climb the mountain of the LORD? Who may stand in his holy place? Only those whose hands and hearts are pure, who do not worship idols and never tell lies. They will receive the LORD's blessing and have a right relationship with God their savior. Such people may seek you and worship in your presence, O God of Jacob.
Psalm 24:1-6 NLT

Everything belongs to God—yet He has given man free will to make choices about his own life. We make those choices every day—all throughout the day—hundreds of choices. Today…will you choose to allow God to guide your life—to have a good relationship with Him—and to allow the Holy Spirit to fill you with the fruit of the Spirit?

Verse of Salvation ~ I pray that your love will overflow more and more, and that you will keep on growing in knowledge and understanding. For I want you to understand what really matters, so that you may live pure and blameless lives until the day of Christ's return. May you always be filled with the fruit of your salvation--the righteous character produced in your life by Jesus Christ--for this will bring much glory and praise to God. Philippians 1:9-11 NLT
