Prayer ~ Lord Jesus-You were never “snatched away” since You ascended into Heaven to be with God the Father. I am so excited that one day I will see You face to face—and spend eternity in Heaven with You—as well as with God the Father and the Holy Spirit. Scripture will be fulfilled! Hallelujah!
She
gave birth to a son who was to rule all nations with an iron rod. And her child
was snatched away from the dragon and was caught up to God and to his throne. Revelation 12:5
Meditate. Focus on the promises of God.
This “son” that the woman in travail gives birth to is
assumed to be the first-born Christians, both men and women. The scripture does
not indicate that these are Jewish sons and daughters. Like all first born sons
there are rights and privileges Those begin for a male child when he is
presented to God on the eighth day after his birth. This verse says that this
son will govern or rule all nations with an iron rod. That would be a
great privilege. Matthew Henry says that this “ruling” means that this child
will judge the world with Christ.
The dragon is the devil who would like nothing better than
to destroy the Christians who worship and adore God. In addition, Matthew Henry
describes this “snatched away” as the child being put under the direct
and possibly instantaneous protection of God—right there at His throne in
Heaven. This “snatched away” could be the rapture that so many Christians
are eagerly awaiting! What a great day that will be—not for Israel which will
be in a war—but for Christians around the world to get to be transported to
heaven!
But read ahead. What happens next? A war in heaven. God seems
to like wars—in heaven and on earth, but we know that He is the ultimate victor—so
all will eventually be well.
Verse of Salvation ~ (Isaiah’s prophecy) Violence
will disappear from your land; the desolation and destruction of war will end.
Salvation will surround you like city walls, and praise will be on the lips of
all who enter there. "No longer will you need the sun to shine by day, nor
the moon to give its light by night, for the LORD your God will be your
everlasting light, and your God will be your glory. Isaiah 60:18-19 God will be our light in Heaven.
No sun or moon needed.
