Prayer – Lord, please open my eyes that I would always
see and follow Your truth—for You are the way, the truth, and the life. Help me
not to be deceived, but to encourage others that they also would not be led
astray by any false teachings.
Now, dear brothers and sisters, let us clarify some
things about the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and how we will be gathered to
meet him. Don't be so easily shaken or alarmed by those who say that the
day of the Lord has already begun. Don't believe them, even if they claim to
have had a spiritual vision, a revelation, or a letter supposedly from us. Don't
be fooled by what they say. For that day will not come until there is a
great rebellion against God and the man of lawlessness is revealed—the one who
brings destruction. He will exalt himself and defy everything that people call
god and every object of worship. He will even sit in the temple of God,
claiming that he himself is God. 2 Thessalonians 2:1-4 (Underlined
for emphasis.)
Meditate. Stay calm. God has a plan.
Don’t be upset or alarmed. Don’t be fooled.
Don’t be deceived is repeated several times in the Bible as
God’s command. He wants us to keep a clear head, to focus on Him—not other gods.
But be careful.
Don't let your heart be deceived so that you turn away from the LORD and serve
and worship other gods. Deuteronomy 11:16
Yes, and everyone
who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. But
evil people and impostors will flourish. They will deceive others and will
themselves be deceived. 2 Timothy 3:12-13
Be careful then,
dear brothers and sisters. Make sure that your own hearts are not evil and
unbelieving, turning you away from the living God. You must warn each other
every day, while it is still "today," so that none of you will be
deceived by sin and hardened against God. For if we are faithful to the end,
trusting God just as firmly as when we first believed, we will share in all
that belongs to Christ. Hebrews 3:12-14
So…listen to the Lord’s teaching. Don’t be deceived.
Verse of Salvation ~ As for us, we can't help but thank God for you, dear brothers and sisters loved by the Lord. We are always thankful that God chose you to be among the first to experience salvation—a salvation that came through the Spirit who makes you holy and through your belief in the truth. He called you to salvation when we told you the Good News; now you can share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Thessalonians 2:13-14
