Prayer ~ Lord God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—You are
worthy. I humbly bow before You and declare that You are my creator and my
savior. I worship and adore You. I praise You and thank you for all that You are, for what You have done…and for what You are going to do. You are worthy.
The one sitting on the throne was as brilliant as
gemstones—like jasper and carnelian. And the glow of an emerald circled his
throne like a rainbow. Twenty-four thrones surrounded him, and twenty-four
elders sat on them. They were all clothed in white and had gold crowns on their
heads. From the throne came flashes of lightning and the rumble of thunder. And
in front of the throne were seven torches with burning flames. This is the
sevenfold Spirit of God. In front of the throne was a shiny sea of glass,
sparkling like crystal. In the center and around the throne were four living
beings, each covered with eyes, front and back. ... Whenever the living beings
give glory and honor and thanks to the one sitting on the throne (the one who
lives forever and ever), the twenty-four elders fall down and worship the one
sitting on the throne (the one who lives forever and ever). And they lay their
crowns before the throne and say, "You are worthy, O Lord our God, to
receive glory and honor and power. For you created all things, and they exist
because you created what you pleased." Revelation 4:3-6, 9-11Earthly Throne
Simple compared to the Heavenly Thrones.
Meditate. The Lord God and the Almighty God are on their
thrones with the sevenfold Spirit before them.
God in three persons is seen and recorded by John as he
enters heaven. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. There to worship God are the
twenty-four elders—representative of all Christians in heaven at that point.
The twenty-four elders lay down their crowns—unworthy to wear them in the
presence of the Lord God Almighty. Worship is initiated by the four living
beings, the multifaceted cherubim angels. Worship is proclaimed then by the
elders as they lay their crowns before the throne and declare our creator God
worthy to receive glory, honor, and power. Worthy of praise.
Will you be part of that group of Christians depicted by
the twenty-four elders? Only if you choose to have a relationship with Jesus
Christ—and are a faithful follower. Is that a treasure you want for yourself in
heaven? To be there at the very throne of God who is worthy of praise and
adoration?
God is on His throne. Worthy.
Verse of Salvation ~ I love you, LORD; you are my
strength. The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock,
in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my
place of safety. I called on the LORD, who is worthy of praise, and he saved me
from my enemies. Psalm 18:1-3
