No Fear. Only Trust

Prayer ~ Lord Jesus, sometimes reading Revelation can be scary. Take away my fear and fill me with renewed hope, trust, and love for You. I trust You to protect and guard me, my family, friends and neighbors from any evil forces that would try to influence our lives.

Then I witnessed in heaven another significant event. I saw a large red dragon with seven heads and ten horns, with seven crowns on his heads. His tail swept away one-third of the stars in the sky, and he threw them to the earth. He stood in front of the woman as she was about to give birth, ready to devour her baby as soon as it was born. Revelation 12:3-4

Meditate on God’s word. No Fear.

Let’s step back a few verses and look at another significant event in the verses above. This dragon is well known as the devil—that tempter that got Eve and Adam to eat the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden. He’s been around since creation, wanting to be God himself. We see this same description with the ten horns in Daniel, chapter seven, and Revelation, chapter seventeen.

Then in my vision that night, I saw a fourth beast—terrifying, dreadful, and very strong. It devoured and crushed its victims with huge iron teeth and trampled their remains beneath its feet. It was different from any of the other beasts, and it had ten horns. As I was looking at the horns, suddenly another small horn appeared among them. Three of the first horns were torn out by the roots to make room for it. This little horn had eyes like human eyes and a mouth that was boasting arrogantly. Daniel 7:7-8

The ten horns of the beast are ten kings who have not yet risen to power. They will be appointed to their kingdoms for one brief moment to reign with the beast. They will all agree to give him their power and authority. Together they will go to war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will defeat them because he is Lord of all lords and King of all kings. And his called and chosen and faithful ones will be with him." Revelation 17:12-14

In the Amplified Bible it notes in Daniel seven that those ten horns represent ten kingdoms. This is interesting that the ten kings will willingly give their power and authority to the beast and then go to war against our Lord Jesus. We will be with Jesus at that point—there to support our Lord and King. This is all according to God’s plan. Guess who wins!

Here in Revelation 12 Satan casts one-third of his “fallen” angels from heaven to earth. Consider the effect of having a bunch of demonic “angels” roaming about on earth. That might create some scary times. There is so much evil happening on earth right now—and you don’t have to go any further than the TV in your home to see it—for real or in fantasy. Some people just choose to allow immoral, obnoxious, or disgusting things or activities into their lives. How will it be with thousands of Satan’s wicked angels influencing humans? We will probably experience this because the “man-child” or Christians are not removed, snatched away, until after Satan sends his angels to earth. Be prepared. You’ve been warned. No fear—remember Jesus has promised to be with us always—even to the end of the earth. Just trust in the Lord—and don’t lean on your own understanding. In everything you do, acknowledge Him—and He will guide you safely through it all.

Verse of Salvation ~ So we must listen very carefully to the truth we have heard, or we may drift away from it. For the message God delivered through angels has always stood firm, and every violation of the law and every act of disobedience was punished. So what makes us think we can escape if we ignore this great salvation that was first announced by the Lord Jesus himself and then delivered to us by those who heard him speak? And God confirmed the message by giving signs and wonders and various miracles and gifts of the Holy Spirit whenever he chose. Hebrews 2:1-4
