Prayer – Lord God, I am counting on You that Your Holy Spirit will not leave me, just as You promised. I trust You and love You with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength. Your name, Jesus, is on my lips forever. The name above every other name.
Listen! The LORD's arm is not too weak to save you, nor is his ear too deaf to hear you call. It's your sins that have cut you off from God. Because of your sins, he has turned away and will not listen anymore. ... "The Redeemer will come to Jerusalem to buy back those in Israel who have turned from their sins," says the LORD. "And this is my covenant with them," says the LORD. "My Spirit will not leave them, and neither will these words I have given you. They will be on your lips and on the lips of your children and your children's children forever. I, the LORD, have spoken!" Isaiah 59:1-2, 20-21
Meditate. Consider God’s guidance in scripture. Read God’s
word and listen to what He is saying.
My Spirit will not leave them. Who is the “them?” It
is people of Jerusalem…all of the Israelites. God’s chosen people in the end
times. The covenant is that promise that the Redeemer—the Messiah Jesus Christ
will come to rescue those Israelites who have repented. The promise: My
Spirit will not leave them, and neither will these words I have given you. They
will be on your lips and on the lips of your children and your children's
children forever. Repentance is the key to the relationship with God the
Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will not leave the
Israelites—what a great promise. He will never leave them or forsake them. We
have that same promise from Jesus as He was about to go to the cross, He told
His disciples:
“If you love me,
obey my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another
Advocate, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all
truth. The world cannot receive him, because it isn't looking for him and
doesn't recognize him. But you know him, because he lives with you now and
later will be in you.” John 14:15-17
Once again we see the importance of obedience. Jesus was
the ultimate example for us with His determination to please our Heavenly
Father and willingly give up His own will and be the sacrifice for all mankind
on that cross. His name will be on our lips forever.
Verses of Salvation ~ But may all who search for you be
filled with joy and gladness in you. May those who love your salvation
repeatedly shout, "God is great!" But as for me, I am poor and needy;
please hurry to my aid, O God. You are my helper and my savior; O LORD, do not
delay. Psalm 70:4-5
Friday’s Feast at the King’s Table
A hungry person
dreams of eating but wakes up still hungry. A thirsty person dreams of drinking
but is still faint from thirst when morning comes. So it will be with your enemies,
with those who attack Mount Zion. Isaiah 29:8
Fish Tacos Would Jesus have eaten these? |
What foods do you dream about? It is May 5th—Cinco De Mayo—so Mexican food is likely on the menu. Do you crave a good mole, tostadas, some soft spicy tamales, a simple quesadilla, beans and rice, or maybe just some tacos? My choice is fish tacos with avocados or guacamole, and a nice Mexican coleslaw. Just Google your menu items and get recipes for anything you dream about. Maybe you’d rather go to a Mexican restaurant and have them wait on you, prepare their specialties, and serve you like a victor in the battle with the French army back in 1862? Whatever your heart desires. Happy Cinco De Mayo day!
