Living…not just Talking

Meditate.

For the Kingdom of God is not just a lot of talk; it is living by God's power. 1 Corinthians 4:20

The Kingdom of God is not a lot of talk. It is action. It begins with believing. Believing in Jesus as the Son of God, and as our Lord and Savior. Step right up—believe—enter into the Kingdom of God. It was created just for all believers…only they become God’s adopted children.

What do most people talk about today? COVID?! That’s no surprise. The topics of COVID vaccination, exposure and health issues are dividing homes, families and friends. Isn’t that just what Satan wants—to divide us—to bring hostility into our lives where there should be unity and love?

Be careful. Don’t be deceived, just as Paul wrote to his young friend Timothy who was a pastor.

Now the Holy Spirit tells us clearly that in the last times some will turn away from the true faith; they will follow deceptive spirits and teachings that come from demons. These people are hypocrites and liars, and their consciences are dead. 1 Timothy 4:1-2

Don't be deceived.
Even a small alligator can have a vicious bite.

Times haven’t changed. We need to follow the Holy Spirit and not be deceived by false and demonic teachings. The world is crazy…then and now. Don’t be deluded and duped by weird ideas and philosophies. I’m such a gullible person…but I have learned to look at ideas to see if they match up with what I’ve learned from reading the Bible. Studying with trusted Christian friends is important so as not to be misled. It is a good way to assure that we are living by God’s power—in a way that is pleasing to Him. That is clearly the way I want to live…to please God in all that I think, say and do. That is the best way to have a good relationship with the Lord. I challenge and encourage you to keep God at the center of your conversations…and don’t just talk about Him. Live by God’s power.

Prayer ~ Lord God…just as Paul taught the church at Thessalonica…I will always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is Your will for those who belong to Christ Jesus. I will not stifle the Holy Spirit, or scoff at prophecies, but test everything that is said. I will hold on to what is good and stay away from every kind of evil. From 1 Thessalonians 5:16-22. I praise You and thank you for the wisdom that You give us when we listen…and not talk.

Verses of Salvation ~ For God chose to save us through our Lord Jesus Christ, not to pour out his anger on us. Christ died for us so that, whether we are dead or alive when he returns, we can live with him forever. So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing. 1 Thessalonians 5:9-11 (Underlined for emphasis.)
