I Believe and Am Blessed

Meditate.

For no one can ever be made right with God by doing what the law commands. The law simply shows us how sinful we are. But now God has shown us a way to be made right with him without keeping the requirements of the law, as was promised in the writings of Moses and the prophets long ago. We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are. For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God's glorious standard. Yet God, with undeserved kindness, declares that we are righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. Romans 3:20-24

The Ten Commandments
Love God
Love Your Neighbor
Can you really keep the Ten Commandments…and all the dos and don’ts Laws listed in the book of Leviticus? Really? Will that make you “right” with God? All those rules do show us how sinful we are—but without an animal sacrifice on a regular basis, we could never be made “right” and had those sins removed. Since the Temple was destroyed in 70 AD there are no animal sacrifices that can cover our sins. But God had a better plan than continual animal sacrifices…He sacrificed His Son…and then raised Him from the grave. One time sacrifice for all mankind’s sin forever. We just have to believe that this was done for us. We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are. FAITH. Believing in what we cannot see. Jesus lived, died, and was resurrected over 2,000 years ago—but we can still believe in Him today…and trust Him that He has our back…He has taken away the guilt of our sin…and the penalty of that sin that is death—eternal death. The opposite…eternal life…is our gift from God for believing in His plan…salvation of our souls. It is a simple plan. No work involved on our part. Jesus did it all—already. We just have to believe—have faith—that is was done for us.

Personally, I feel blessed. I feel very special. I am forgiven of my sin—past, present, and future. Jesus paid for it all. Now I am a child of God—because I believe. How about you? Do you realize that you are a sinner for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God? Do you have faith in Jesus? Do you believe that He died…and rose from the grave…for your sin? All you have to do is acknowledge and confess to God that you have sinned, ask for forgiveness for that sin, and believe that Jesus took your sin to the cross. Easy? Only if you humble yourself before God and accept His blessing—His gift of salvation. That salvation begins today with being adopted into God's family and the promise of an eternity with our loving God in a sinless society of heaven. What freedom! I believe and am blessed.

As you learn more about God—the Father, Son and Holy Spirit—your relationship will grow. Seek Him…and you will find Him. As David told his son, Solomon…

And Solomon, my son, learn to know the God of your ancestors intimately. Worship and serve him with your whole heart and a willing mind. For the LORD sees every heart and knows every plan and thought. If you seek him, you will find him. But if you forsake him, he will reject you forever. 1 Chronicles 28:9

Prayer ~ Lord God, Thank You for the greatest gift—salvation from my sin. What a great plan! I know I am a sinner…everyone is…but Jesus has taken away my sin…and I am forgiven. I am glad to be part of the Kingdom of God…even today. One day we will all be together in Heaven. It is a glorious place…and I want to go there. I want to see Your glorious face, Jesus.

Verses of Salvation ~ For the grace of God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all people. And we are instructed to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures. We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God, while we look forward with hope to that wonderful day when the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, will be revealed. Titus 2:11-13

Bible Trivia Answer to the Question: What gave Samson his strength and how did he lose it?

Samson’s strength came from the Lord. He vowed to never cut his hair as he was dedicated to God as a Nazarite from birth. Delilah nagged him until he told her the secret of his strength. She had his head shaved by the Philistines while he slept. When he woke up, his strength was gone…and he was doomed. Read Judges 16.

Bible Trivia Question for next week: What are we to “seek first” according to the Sermon on the Mount recorded in the book of Matthew?
