Meditate
He [Daniel] said, "Praise the name of God forever and ever, for he has all wisdom and power. He controls the course of world events; he removes kings and sets up other kings. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the scholars. He reveals deep and mysterious things and knows what lies hidden in darkness, though he is surrounded by light. I thank and praise you, God of my ancestors, for you have given me wisdom and strength. You have told me what we asked of you and revealed to us what the king demanded." Daniel 2:20-23
Daniel began his prayer by praise God’s name. That is just what Jesus taught His disciples. Honor God by honoring His name. Daniel recognized and acknowledged the power and wisdom of God, as well as thanking Him for the wisdom and strength that God had given him.

Prayer
~ Lord God, You are an awesome God—I praise Your name—and I praise You for all
your power, wisdom and strength. Please continue to inspire me as I read Your
word and give me wisdom and understanding that I may apply it to my life. Thank
You for revealing Yourself to me even here in Old Testament Scripture, as light.
Jesus is like a light shining as a beacon for us.
Verse of Salvation ~ The LORD is my light and my salvation—so why should I be afraid? The LORD is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble? Psalm 27:1
