Think. Meditate.
Therefore if you have
been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is,
seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things above, not on the
things that are on earth. For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ
in God. Colossians
3:1-3 NASB
Since you have been
raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven,
where Christ sits in the place of honor at God's right hand. Think about the
things of heaven, not the things of earth. For you died to this life, and your
real life is hidden with Christ in God. Colossians 3:1-4 NLT
If. There is always an
"if"...or an "if not." You can't have one without the
other. Here is the choice...if you are raised up with Christ...IF you believe
in Him as your Lord and Savior...or if not. The choice is yours and the most
important choice you'll ever make...or have made in your life. That choice
makes the difference in where you'll spend eternity--Heaven or hell.
Maybe you are
wondering what it means to be "raised up" with Christ. If you are
from the South being "raised up" means growing up. But in
Christianese, "raised up" means to be resurrected with Christ--to die
with Him--and then to live again with Him.
And this is the will of God, that I should
not lose even one of all those he has given me, but that I should raise them up
at the last day. For it is my Father's will that all who see his Son and
believe in him should have eternal life. I will raise them up at the last day. John 6:39-40
And God will raise us from the dead by his
power, just as he raised our Lord from the dead. 1 Corinthians 6:14
"Seek things
above where Christ is seated at the right hand of the Father." The right
hand is the honored position. The honored guest is seated to the right of the
host--so Christ was honored by our Heavenly Father. In His Sermon on the Mount
Jesus told His followers that they should seek first the Kingdom of God...and
His righteous. That is where we will find Jesus Christ--in Heaven. Keep
seeking. Don't give up because He has promised that when you seek Him, you will
find Him. In finding Him you find the new life He offers. Live it!
And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you
will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on
knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives.
Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.
Luke 11:9-10
"Set your mind on
things above, not on things that are on earth." So what is the
difference? In Matthew 16:23 Jesus admonishes Peter to set his mind on
God's interests, not man's interests--the things people want. Romans 8:5
explains that the flesh strives after flesh or sinful nature, whereas those
seeking God's will are controlled by the Holy Spirit.
"For you have
died and your life is hidden with Christ in God."
Either way, Christ's love controls us.
Since we believe that Christ died for all, we also believe that we have all
died to our old life. He died for everyone so that those who receive his new
life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ,
who died and was raised for them. 2 Corinthians 5:14-15
Nothing is hidden.
"For nothing is hidden, except to be
revealed; nor has [anything] been secret, but that it would come to light. Mark 4:22 NASB
"When Christ, who
is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in
glory."
Glory-Glory-Glory
1 Corinthians 1:3-8
Philippians 3:20-21
1 John 3:2
Check out these verses. We will be like Jesus
in His resurrected body. What a great promise!
If...then. If we
believe, seek Him and thus have been raised up like Him, then we will be
revealed with Him in the glory of Heaven. We'll stand before the very throne of
God with Jesus. That will be a glorious moment. I can hardly wait! How
about you?
Prayer ~ Lord Jesus—May we be glorified
with you.
Verse of Salvation ~ And through your
faith, God is protecting you by his power until you receive this salvation,
which is ready to be revealed on the last day for all to see. 1 Peter 1:5
Which key will open the door to your heart? Do you have faith to believe in Jesus as your Savior? |
Faith is the key. If
you have faith…then. Believe and receive the Salvation of our Lord Jesus
Christ.
