Memory Verse:
The
temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God
is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand.
When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.
1 Corinthians 10:13
Is there a
phrase in this scripture that you are having difficulty remembering?
The temptations in your life are no different from what
others experience.
And God is faithful.
He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can
stand.
When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you
can endure.
1 Corinthians 10:13
Perhaps you
prefer another translation:
No temptation has overtaken you but such as is
common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond
what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also,
so that you will be able to endure it. 1 Corinthians 10:13 NASB
Be patient as you wait on the Lord. His time is not the same as our time. Trust in the Lord. He is faithful. |
Remember that
everyone experiences temptations. We all get attacked. But God is committed to
His followers and can be relied on to create a way out…an alternate to the
temptation that gives us opportunities to not only persevere but to persist
under the duress of some enticement. As long as the desires of our hearts are
within the will of God—not an evil temptation—we can be assured that we will
receive what we want. We can only trust Him. Be patient as you wait for Him.
Trust in the LORD and do good. Then you will live
safely in the land and prosper. Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you
your heart's desires. Commit everything you do to the LORD. Trust him, and he
will help you. He will make your innocence radiate like the dawn, and the
justice of your cause will shine like the noonday sun. Be still in the presence
of the LORD, and wait patiently for him to act. Don't worry about evil people
who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes. Stop being angry! Turn from
your rage! Do not lose your temper—it only leads to harm. For the wicked will
be destroyed, but those who trust in the LORD will possess the land. Psalm 37:3-9
Truth is what
we are seeking…as a way out of temptation. Remember Jesus said…
I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can
come to the Father except through me. John 14:6
And you will know the truth, and the truth will set
you free. John 8:32
Jesus is the way…the truth…and the
life. Do you believe this and will you share this truth with others?
Prayer
~ Lord God, Be gracious to me according to Your word. I love You
with all of my heart, soul, mind and strength. I want to keep Your commandment
and live to please You in whatever I think, wherever I walk, and whatever I do.
Please continue to teach me more about yourself today…and every day, as long as
I live. Lead me not into temptation, but deliver me from the evil one—from evil
thoughts, words and deeds. I Thank You morning, noon and night for Your
goodness, love, and righteousness.
