Pilgrimage to Jerusalem

Advent Daily Lectionary Readings:
Psalm 128
Habakkuk 3:2-6
Philippians 3:12-16

A song for pilgrims ascending to Jerusalem. How joyful are those who fear the LORD--all who follow his ways! You will enjoy the fruit of your labor. How joyful and prosperous you will be! Your wife will be like a fruitful grapevine, flourishing within your home. Your children will be like vigorous young olive trees as they sit around your table. That is the LORD's blessing for those who fear him. May the LORD continually bless you from Zion. May you see Jerusalem prosper as long as you live.  May you live to enjoy your grandchildren. May Israel have peace! Psalm 128:1-6

A pilgrimage to Jerusalem--is that on your Bucket List? It was on mine...to walk where Jesus walked--to breath the air of the Sea of Galilee and the Mediterranean. My Hubby and I went to Israel in 2007 and again in 2010. One trip was not enough...and frankly I'd love to go back again and visit some archeological sites. One more thing on my Bucket List is to go on a Paul's Missionary Journey trip. It is one thing to.watch a video of some of the places Paul visited.... Ephesus, Corinth, Philippi, Crete, and Rome, but can you imagine walking along the dusty paths, seeing the ruins, reliving Paul's messages to the churches, and of course eating the local foods? Bon Voyage. Bon Appetite. Dream on.
How joyful are those who fear the LORD--all who follow his ways! During this Advent season we sing about JOY...Joy to the World..Joyful Joyful We Adore Thee.... But do we have that joy in our hearts and lives? Jesus wants us to have joy in our lives. Anticipate the Joy...of the season...of Jesus in your life.
     - Then our mouth was filled with laughter and our tongue with joyful shouting; Then they said among the nations, "The LORD has done great things for them." Psalm 126:2 (NASB)
     - I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow! John 15:11
     - Then make me truly happy (my joy compete) by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose. Philippians 2:2
How filled with JOY are you today?

Prayer ~ Lord Jesus, Thank You for creating joy...and bringing it into our lives.

Friday’s Feast at the King’s Table
Thirsty? Enjoy this terrific, very authentic Chia Tea on a cold winter day. Can also be served iced. This is me in an Instant Pot pressure cooker, but can be Mae in any pressure cooker, or steep the tea and spice together with hot water, for about ten minutes, and then add hot milk.  The flavor of the  tea prepared in the Instant Pot is very smooth, yet intense and satisfying. Enjoy with cookies or an Indian meal.

Instant Pot Masala Chia
6 black tea bags
3 cups water
1 cup regular or almond milk (plus an additional 2 cup of milk used when serving the tea)
4 tsp sugar
4 whole cloves
8 cinnamon sticks
1 tsp feel seeds
8 green caramon pods
8 thin slices fresh ginger

Place all the ingredients (except the extra milk) in a heat safe container, preferably one wit a pour spout. Cover the container with foil. In the inner line of the Instant Pot, pace two cups of wate and a trivet. Put the foil covered pot on the trivet. Cook on HIGH PRESSURE for 4 minutes. Then allow the pressure to release naturally for 5 minutes. Release the remaining pressure. Strain tea. Add additional milk, or not, as you prefer, to taste. Serve  warm.
