Love? Others as Yourself

For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: "Love your neighbor as yourself." But if you are always biting and devouring one another, watch out! Beware of destroying one another. So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won't be doing what your sinful nature craves. Galatians 5:14-16 NLT

Let the Holy Spirit guide your lives so that you will desire to “love your neighbor as yourself.” Now that would make the world a better place to live—of course people would have to love themselves first—then love others. Maybe that is the problem with the world—not enough people love—truly love or even like—themselves. Culturally it appears that some nationalities are so indoctrinated with hate that they are not capable of loving. If ISIS people loved themselves…and then others, would we have the whole Middle East crisis…and the Paris bombings? What about all the killings we have on a daily basis right here in the United States? If people had better self-esteem—loved themselves—would there be as many senseless evil actions against family homes, schools, sporting events, entertainment centers, or government buildings?  God help us. It is time to pray.

Prayer ~ Holy Spirit—have mercy on us. Have mercy on all the Christians around the world. May we be protected from evil forces in the world—deliver us from evil. Continue to give us the desire to love our neighbor as ourselves.
