Are You a Real Child of God?

How foolish can you be? After starting your Christian lives in the Spirit, why are you now trying to become perfect by your own human effort? Have you experienced so much for nothing? Surely it was not in vain, was it? I ask you again, does God give you the Holy Spirit and work miracles among you because you obey the law? Of course not! It is because you believe the message you heard about Christ. In the same way, "Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith." The real children of Abraham, then, are those who put their faith in God. Galatians 3:3-7 NLT

Put on your faith.

For you are all children of the light and of the day; we don't belong to darkness and night. So be on your guard, not asleep like the others. Stay alert and be clearheaded. Night is the time when people sleep and drinkers get drunk. But let us who live in the light be clearheaded, protected by the armor of faith and love, and wearing as our helmet the confidence of our salvation. For God chose to save us through our Lord Jesus Christ, not to pour out His anger on us. Christ died for us so that, whether we are dead or alive when He returns, we can live with Him forever. 1 Thessalonians 5:5-10 NLT

Be faithful…clearheaded. Don’t try to do it on your own. Such good advice. Comforting that whether we are dead or alive when Christ returns…we will go to be with Him…forever. Not because of anything we did...not by obeying the law…but just by faith…by believing. That makes us just like Abraham—a real child of God—adopted into His faithful family. Faith. Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1. Faith is the key to believing. Put on your faithalong with the armor of God…taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Ephesians 6:16. How is your faith level today on a scale of one to ten?

Prayer ~ Holy Spirit, I put my faith in You.
