It is only with the Holy Spirit within us that we can sincerely love--with an agape love. We only need to "prove" ourselves to God. It doesn't matter what others think of us. We tell ourselves that anyway--but there are some people we do just have a deep desire of love to please--or basically just want to "prove" that we are worthy of their attention or love. Christ Jesus told us that we are to love our Christian brother and sisters if we love Him. Paul wrote in Galatians 6:2...Carry one another’s burdens; in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. He continued...
| So we must not get tired of doing good, for we will reap at the proper time if we don’t give up. |
| Therefore, as we have opportunity, we must work for the good of all, especially for those who belong to the household of faith. Galatians 6:9-10. So hang in there--don't get discouraged. The Holy Spirit will bless you with the Fruit of the Spirit--kindness, goodness and faithfulness--to love God and others. Love is the positive action. Live to please God and not men. |
Prayer ~ Holy Spirit--just as I have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, so I speak, not to please men, but rather God, who examines my hearts. 1 Thessalonians 2:4 (HCSB). Help me to live a life of holiness and love.
