Lost sheep—in Israel. This is a country
where you see sheep on the hillsides and shepherds tending or herding them
along the roads. In this passage Jesus ignored the Gentile Canaanite woman
(Matthew 15:21-23), His disciples wanted her sent away—keep reading the
scripture for the rest of the story. Jesus claimed at this point in His
ministry to be there for the lost sheep—lost individuals of Israel. The lost
Jews. They were the focus for Him. He wanted to save them—to guide them into
the truth, that He was the truth, the way and the life. But do you think He
could turn His back on anyone in need?
RSVP:
Jesus was reaching out to the lost sheep of Israel. Can you reach out to the
lost in your neighborhood or community? How will you respond to Him or with
Him?
