Jesus spoke to His disciples and followers
about the Kingdom of Heaven in several parables. Here He refers to the treasure
or the pearl of great worth and the fish that are going—or not going—to heaven.
Heaven is a treasure worth seeking. The disciples asked Him about the kingdom. At that time the disciples came to Jesus and
said, "Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?" And He
called a child to Himself and set him before them, and said, "Truly I say
to you, unless you are converted and become like children, you will not enter
the kingdom of heaven. Whoever then humbles himself as this child, he is the
greatest in the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 18:1-4. Kids can be so bold and honest. My 5
year old grandson, Isaac, and 2 year old granddaughter, Lydia, were at the
neighborhood park nearby, climbing on the play equipment. Another little girl a couple of years older
than Isaac was playing there too. Isaac said to her, “My name is Isaac, and
this is my sister, Lydia. Do you believe in God?” She answered him, “We don’t go
to church?” So Isaac says, “Well, why don’t you.” She ran off. Now that is bold.
The seed is planted that other kids do go to church and do believe in God. He’s
that kid that Jesus was talking about. How about you?
