Moses
built an altar and named it The LORD is My Banner…. Exodus 17:15
This is the only
place in the Bible that God is seen as Jehovah-Nissi. Moses recognized that the
Lord was Israel’s banner—their flag that they flew as they defeated the
Amalekites—with the Lord’s help. That flag gave the soldiers a feeling of hope,
encouragement and a focus. With the Lord as our banner—we have hope. We can be
encouraged just to know that it is God who goes into battle with us and for
us.
RSVP: Jesus is
inviting us today to lift up our banner—His banner or flag. Can you fly His
flag high in your life today?
Prayer~ Thanks
to You, God, for giving us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians
15:57. You encourage us since we know that not only You are there with us--but fight our battles
and struggles.
