The
LORD by wisdom founded the earth, by understanding He established the heavens.
By His knowledge the deeps were broken up and the skies drip with dew. Proverbs 3:19-20
God is the
ultimate source of wisdom. The Bible is full of wisdom—216 times wisdom is
mentioned in the New American Standard Bible translation. That is a lot of
wisdom—right at our finger tips. Paul wrote to the church at Corinth about
wisdom and the thoughts of God.
And when I came to you, brethren, I did not come
with superiority of speech or of wisdom, proclaiming to you the
testimony of God. ... Yet we do speak wisdom among those who are mature;
a wisdom, however, not of this age nor of the rulers of this age, who are
passing away; but we speak God's wisdom in a mystery, the hidden wisdom
which God predestined before the ages to our glory; the wisdom which
none of the rulers of this age has understood; for if they had understood it
they would not have crucified the Lord of glory; but just as it is written,
"Things which eye has not seen and ear has not heard, and which have not
entered the heart of man, all that God has prepared for those who love Him."
For to us God revealed them through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all
things, even the depths of God. For who among men knows the thoughts of a man
except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so the thoughts of God no
one knows except the Spirit of God. 1 Corinthians 2:1, 6-11
God always acts with infinite wisdom, for our good to
conform us to Christ. That brings to mind a verse about becoming like Christ. And do not be conformed to this world, but
be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the
will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:2.
As our minds are transformed to goodness, we become more like Jesus.
RSVP: Jesus is
inviting us today to be transformed—to renew our minds and gain wisdom. God’s
wisdom. How will you respond to His invitation today?
Prayer~ James
wrote… But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God,
who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James
1:5. So I am asking today for wisdom for myself, my children, my grandchildren
and my dear friends. Please give us wisdom and understanding that we would live
abundant lives for you, Jesus. Thank you for wisdom, recent healings for family
and friends, peace, strength and Your gracious love that we feel beyond
measure.
