Hungry for Spiritual Food?

Meanwhile the disciples were urging Him, saying, "Rabbi, eat." But He said to them, "I have food to eat that you do not know about." So the disciples were saying to one another, "No one brought Him anything to eat, did he?" Jesus said to them, "My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to accomplish His work. John 4:31-34

Spiritual food, according to the International Standard Bible Encyclopedia, is nourishment for the soul. In 1 Corinthians 10:3 it talks about the Israelites eating...and all ate the same spiritual food...manna in the desert. Jesus referred to Himself as the "Bread of Life"...Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in Me will never thirst. ... I am the living bread that came down out of heaven; if anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread also which I will give for the life of the world is My flesh." John 6:35, 51. Spiritual food gives and nourishes spiritual life. At our home we eat to live and live to eat. Family times often focus on FOOD! What shall we eat? Our spiritual growth was generally only determined by individual Bible reading and Bible studies, as well as Sunday morning feasting, until recently when we started doing a daily devotional together. Good conversation that even gets interspersed into conversation throughout the day has resulted from our morning devotionals. Are you hungry for some spiritual meat? Seek God in His Word...But solid food (meat) is for the mature, who because of practice have their senses trained to discern good and evil. Hebrews 5:14

RSVP: Jesus is calling us today...inviting us to feast on some spiritual food with Him. How will you respond?

Prayer~ Dear Jesus, show me in Your Word today some real spiritual food on which I can feast and share with my family and friends.

Happy Birthday, Aunt Merc.
May God Continue to Bless You--with His Love, Joy & Peace.
