Here “vision”
is referring to a divine revelation. That is a prophetic revelation and without
such a prophetic revelation God’s people show a lack of restraint and come
under judgment. So the person who keeps the law—is happy—blessed like the man
in Psalm 1 who delights in the law of the Lord. He is spiritually healthy and
fruitful. Fruitful as we read in Galatians 5:22-23…the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness,
goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control….
So have
vision for your future—see the divine revelation that God is giving you to be
fruitful as you are obedient to Him. How’s that going? Do you need to clean
your glasses so that you can have a good vision of what God is showing you
about your future with Him? Spiritually speaking cleaning your glasses would be
to get the sins washed away from your life. Ask for forgiveness…yet one more
time. Jesus has an endless supply of forgiveness.
Training Tip – Cut some paper and tape it over your children’s
glasses or sunglasses. Then ask them to put on the glasses and describe what
they see…how is their vision? Take off the paper and let them see the world as
it is. Hopefully they will have an appreciation for good vision. Explain that
vision can be “clouded” or blocked and that it is important that we see God’s
vision for us…for our future with Him.
Lord God, please give us vision to see what it is
that You have for us to do…as we wait for You, Jesus, to come back for those
who believe in You. Give us wisdom to do the things we need to do, courage to
do what You want us to do and persistence to keep on going that we may be
fruitful for You.
