You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do men light a lamp and put it under a bushel, but on the lampstand; and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in Heaven. Matthew 5:14-16
Jesus' vision for the future--for humanity was always to bring glory to God the Father. He was continually focusing on His Father. That was His plan and His very reason for being. What is your "vision" for your future and for that of your family? Is God part of your plan--or is He the center focus--or maybe an after thought or not in the plan?
Training Tip - Read this scripture with your family. Turn on a flashlight and put it under a basket. Not much light gets out does it--if so, put it under a box. Talk about how Jesus expects our lights--our good works to help others and in those good actions we would bring glory to God. Try once again to find some good thing that you can do for others in your neighborhood or community--and do it--not to bring attention to yourself, but to give glory and honor to our Heavenly Father.
Dear Jesus, help us to see Your vision for the people in our neighborhood, community, and even within our own family and circle of friends. May we catch your vision and apply it to our lives. Let our light for you and for our Heavenly Father shine brightly--even on cloudy days.
