| Do you need wisdom? Ask. |
What
do you need wisdom for? School work, your employment situation or workload, dealing
with your children…or parents, a relationship with friends, co-workers, or
neighbors, your future…or your past? Ask God. James tells us that God is
generous and He will answer your prayer—IF your faith is in God alone. Remember
that our God wants us to worship Him alone—no idols. No divided loyalties. We
are not to be wishy-washy. Keep your faith focused on our Almighty God because
He alone is worthy of our worship. How do we do that? By reading His word every
day, strengthening our relationship with Him. To know Him is to worship and
honor Him. That is a wise decision.
If
you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not
rebuke you for asking. But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God
alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a
wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind. Such people should not
expect to receive anything from the Lord. Their loyalty is divided between God
and the world, and they are unstable in everything they do. James 1:5-8
Prayer
– Lord God, I believe in You as my Lord and Savior—the only true and living
God. Please give me wisdom to understand You and to apply Your word to my life.
Meditate.
Read God’s word, listen, and apply it to my life.
Verse
of Salvation ~ But to those called by God to salvation, both Jews and Gentiles,
Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God. 1 Corinthians 1:24
