Don’t Be Misled

Don’t be misled, deceived, or led astray. Don’t let anyone fool you. Good things—things that are perfect are from God, but there is a great deceiver out there that imitates God and good things. We are to test things against God’s word to see if they are the truth, from God. Can you do that?

God created the heavens and the earth—and all that is in them. That includes the lights, the stars, moon, and sun in the heavens. Since Jesus is the light of the world (John 8:12), He doesn’t cast a shifting shadow. He never changes. He declared Himself, that He is the truth. So, by faith, we can always trust Him.

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Hebrews 13:8

Jesus told him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me." John 14:6 NLT

God has created all things—even us. In the beginning, He just spoke the word and things became real. Evil has tarnished the world—but God has a plan for us to change. Changing the way we think is part of that endeavor. Our minds can be renewed. Paul writes it quite distinctly in Romans about allowing God to renew our bodies and our minds.

And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. Romans 12:1-2

Good, pleasing, and perfect. That is the way God wants to transform us, since we are His prized possession. An almost overwhelming thought to be precious to the Almighty God—creator of the Universe and all that is within it. The awesome, omnipotent, omnipresent, invincible God loves you…and me. He loves us so much that He gave up His only Son as a sacrifice for our dirty, rotten sins. Jesus was obedient to the Father and humbled Himself for our benefit. The result is eternal life. Right! We get to live forever with our creator, redeemer, counselor, and friend. Forever. If we believe that He did all that just for us. I believe. Do you?

So don't be misled, my dear brothers and sisters. Whatever is good and perfect comes down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow. He chose to give birth to us by giving us his true word. And we, out of all creation, became his prized possession. James 1:16-18

Prayer – Lord Jesus—I am so unworthy of even a glance from You. Yet, You died for me…for all mankind. You are so worthy of praise, honor, and glory. Through Your blood, I am washed clean from my sin and You made it possible for me to live forever…eternally…with You. Thank you.

Meditate. Consider Jesus’ sacrifice. Jesus is good and perfect.

Verse of Salvation ~ But let us who live in the light be clearheaded, protected by the armor of faith and love, and wearing as our helmet the confidence of our salvation. For God chose to save us through our Lord Jesus Christ, not to pour out his anger on us. Christ died for us so that, whether we are dead or alive when he returns, we can live with him forever. So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing. 1 Thessalonians 5:8-11
