Are You Rejecting God?

Prayer – Holy Spirit… Because I have these promises (that God is my Father and I am a temple of the Holy Spirit), cleanse me from everything that can defile my body or spirit. And let me work toward complete holiness because I fear God. (paraphrased from 2 Corinthians 7:1 NLT)

For God has not called us for impurity, but in sanctification. Therefore, the one who rejects this is not rejecting man, but the God who gives His Holy Spirit to you. 1 Thessalonians 4:7-8 NASB20

Meditate. Consider God’s guidance in scripture to seek Him and purity.

Sanctification. That is a word that mystifies some people, but it is really an ongoing process that occurs in the life of a Christian when they are seeking God with their whole heart—to be set apart—living as God desires. Translated from a Greek word, it is holiness. God wants us to be holy—as Paul told us in his letter to the Ephesians.

Even before He made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in His eyes. Ephesians 1:4 NLT.

Don’t reject holiness—don’t reject God.

But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy. 1 Peter 1:15 NLT.

God leaves it up to you to decide to follow His ways—to even seek sanctification. The choice is yours.

Verse of Salvation ~ Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it. 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 NKJV
