Prayer
– Lord, You have warned us to “be ready” for Your return. I’m listening…and
responding to Your message. Forgive me for my poor attitude and for not treating
others the way I would treat You—showing love and forgiveness to them. Thank
you for all that You’ve done for all of mankind—dying for us on the cross. Setting
us free from the sin that Adam and Satan inflicted on us all.
Watch
therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming. But know this,
that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he
would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. Therefore you
also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not
expect. Matthew
24:42-44 NKJV (Underlined for emphasis.)
Meditate.
Consider God’s timing.
We don’t
know the hour or the day. But even more interesting in this scripture passage
is that… the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not
expect. Another translation says…when we least expect Him. When
would that be? Some people have said that Christ will come for those who
believe in Him…rapturing them…on the Feast of Trumpets. But if that isn't the day that
He is expected, then maybe it is some other day? What would you guess? How
about Palm Sunday, Passover, Easter, the Lunar Eclipse that will occur on March 25th
or the Solar Eclipse that will happen on April 8th? No. No guessing!
We just have to patiently wait for the rapture and be ready, as Jesus
warned His disciples. What does it mean to be ready? We have be
spiritually ready by holding ourselves accountable to the Lord—confessing all of
our sins so that we are covered with the blood of Jesus—our Lord and Savior. He
is the mediator between us and the Heavenly Father, so He holds our ultimate fate—but
we have the choice. That choice is to choose Jesus as our Savior and to be
accountable to Him. We choose our ultimate eternal fate. Eternal—forever. That’s
life. Eternal life forever with God—or eternal life without God. Everyone will
live forever—even if they don’t realize it now—it will happen.
And since we have a great High
Priest who rules over God's house, let us go right into the presence of God
with sincere hearts fully trusting him. For our guilty consciences have been
sprinkled with Christ's blood to make us clean, and our bodies have been washed
with pure water. Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm,
for God can be trusted to keep his promise. Hebrews 10:21-23 NLT
Our
choice here and now will determine our eternal future. What is your choice?
