High Priest in Heaven

Meditate. Consider Jesus as High Priest.

Even though Jesus was God's Son, he learned obedience from the things he suffered. In this way, God qualified him as a perfect High Priest, and he became the source of eternal salvation for all those who obey him. And God designated him to be a High Priest in the order of Melchizedek. Hebrews 5:8-10

Jesus is our Priest—and our intercessor before God the Father. Obedient to the Father, He took our sins upon Himself on the cross. The book of Hebrews in the Bible gives us several chapters that clarify Jesus as High Priest. This is an important concept. Think carefully about Jesus as High Priest in Heaven. One day as believers we will serve Him there.

And so, dear brothers and sisters who belong to God and are partners with those called to heaven, think carefully about this Jesus whom we declare to be God's messenger and High Priest. Hebrews 3:1

Here is the main point: We have a High Priest who sat down in the place of honor beside the throne of the majestic God in heaven. Hebrews 8:1

So Christ has now become the High Priest over all the good things that have come. He has entered that greater, more perfect Tabernacle in heaven, which was not made by human hands and is not part of this created world. Hebrews 9:11

And he did not enter heaven to offer himself again and again, like the high priest here on earth who enters the Most Holy Place year after year with the blood of an animal. Hebrews 9:25

Jesus paid our debt of sin with His sacrifice…and then God made Him High Priest of the Tabernacle of Heaven. Who will be the other priests in Heaven? That is a good question for each of us to study. It is possible that is those Christians who are faithful…and mature. Will you be among those serving as priests? Is that part of your inheritance?

What is the Right Time?
Only God the Father knows.
It is His plan!

God has now revealed to us his mysterious plan regarding Christ, a plan to fulfill his own good pleasure. And this is the plan: At the right time he will bring everything together under the authority of Christ--everything in heaven and on earth. Furthermore, because we are united with Christ, we have received an inheritance from God, for he chose us in advance, and he makes everything work out according to his plan.
Ephesians 1:9-11

Prayer ~ Lord God, I pray for my fellow Christians…as Paul prayed for the people in the church at Ephesus. I have not stopped thanking God for you. I pray for you constantly, asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God. I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called—his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance. I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God's power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God's right hand in the heavenly realms. Now he is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else—not only in this world but also in the world to come. God has put all things under the authority of Christ and has made him head over all things for the benefit of the church. And the church is his body; it is made full and complete by Christ, who fills all things everywhere with himself. Ephesians 1:16-23

Verses of Salvation ~ For God chose to save us through our Lord Jesus Christ, not to pour out his anger on us. Christ died for us so that, whether we are dead or alive when he returns, we can live with him forever. So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing. 1 Thessalonians 5:9-11
