Meditate. Think about the words of God…the Word of God.
In the
beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was
God. He existed in the beginning with God. God created everything through him,
and nothing was created except through him. The Word gave life to everything
that was created, and his life brought light to everyone. ... So the Word became
human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and
faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father's one and
only Son. John 1:1-4, 14
Jesus is the Word of God—and here John tells us that The Word is the Creator—giving life to everything and everyone. He is God. Glory be to the Father…and to the Son…and to the Holy Spirit. It is beyond our comprehension to even consider God before the beginning of time…before creation. Awesome.
Jesus is also
proclaimed as the “Word of God” in the book of Revelation when it describes His
second coming. Note the other names for Jesus used in this passage below. Faith
and True, King of Kings and Lord of Lords. There is no doubt that this is
describing Jesus Christ.
Watch for the Heavens to Open
Christ-The Word of God-will Return
Victorious
Then I saw heaven opened, and a white
horse was standing there. Its rider was named Faithful and True, for he judges
fairly and wages a righteous war. His eyes were like flames of fire, and on his
head were many crowns. A name was written on him that no one understood except
himself. He wore a robe dipped in blood, and his title was the Word of God.
The armies of heaven, dressed in the finest of pure white linen, followed him
on white horses. From his mouth came a sharp sword to strike down the nations.
He will rule them with an iron rod. He will release the fierce wrath of God,
the Almighty, like juice flowing from a winepress. On his robe at his thigh was
written this title: King of all kings and Lord of all lords. Revelation
19:11-16 (Underlined for emphasis.)
We have the
assurance of eternal life through Jesus—the Word of God—as recorded by Peter.
For you have been born again, but not
to a life that will quickly end. Your new life will last forever because it
comes from the eternal, living word of God. 1 Peter 1:23
Prayer ~ Lord God, You are the Word of God—and it is only through You that we know the Father. You are the Way, The Truth and the Life. We are called to be holy—but we can only do that with the power of the Holy Spirit. Cleanse our hearts and fill us again with Your love and grace that we can live holy lives before You—to honor and serve You.
Verses of Salvation ~ This salvation was something even the prophets wanted to know more about when they prophesied about this gracious salvation prepared for you. They wondered what time or situation the Spirit of Christ within them was talking about when he told them in advance about Christ's suffering and his great glory afterward. They were told that their messages were not for themselves, but for you. And now this Good News has been announced to you by those who preached in the power of the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. It is all so wonderful that even the angels are eagerly watching these things happen. So think clearly and exercise self-control. Look forward to the gracious salvation that will come to you when Jesus Christ is revealed to the world. So you must live as God's obedient children. Don't slip back into your old ways of living to satisfy your own desires. You didn't know any better then. But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy. For the Scriptures say, "You must be holy because I am holy." 1 Peter 1:10-16
Bible Trivia
Answer of the Week: Where is Jesus now? In Heaven, seated at the right hand of
the Father.
I also pray that you will understand
the incredible greatness of God's power for us who believe him. This is the
same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place
of honor at God's right hand in the heavenly realms. Now he is far above any
ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else--not only in this world
but also in the world to come. God has put all things under the authority of
Christ and has made him head over all things for the benefit of the church. Ephesians
1:19-22
