Meditate. A place of honor.
When the Lord Jesus had
finished talking with them, he was taken up into heaven and sat down in the
place of honor at God's right hand. And the disciples went everywhere and
preached, and the Lord worked through them, confirming what they said by
many
miraculous signs. Mark 16:19-20
Jesus will separate the sheep from the goats. Sheep in Israel |
The LORD said to my Lord, "Sit in the place of honor
at my right hand until I humble your enemies, making them a footstool under
your feet." Psalm 110:1
Though I am surrounded by troubles, you will protect me
from the anger of my enemies. You reach out your hand, and the power of your
right hand saves me. The LORD will work out his plans for my life—for your
faithful love, O LORD, endures forever. Don't abandon me, for you made me. Psalm
138:7-8
But when the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the
angels with him, then he will sit upon his glorious throne. All the nations
will be gathered in his presence, and he will separate the people as a shepherd
separates the sheep from the goats. He will place the sheep at his right hand
and the goats at his left. Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come,
you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the
creation of the world.' Matthew 25:31-34
Consider where you will seat your
guest of honor the next time you have a post COVID dinner party. Where do you
want to be seated…or standing…when Jesus comes in His glory? Will you be in the
group of the goats or the sheep?
Prayer ~ Lord Jesus, please continue to work through me…just as You did Your disciples. I hope that one day I will be found worthy of being considered like the sheep and placed at the right hand side of Your throne.
Verses of Salvation ~ For God chose to save us through our Lord Jesus Christ, not to pour out his anger on us. Christ died for us so that, whether we are dead or alive when he returns, we can live with him forever. So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing. 1 Thessalonians 5:9-11
