Meditate on these reassuring words of Jesus.
Don't let your hearts be troubled. Trust in
God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father's home.
If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place
for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will
always be with me where I am. John
14:1-3
Think about how big Noah’s ark was and all the room that God designed inside that for all the animals…and people. It may have even had some extra room for people that could have changed their minds, but didn’t. I imagine that is how it is in Heaven. There is more than enough room in my Father's home. Jesus has made some extra rooms for those who are still sitting on the fence trying to decide if they want to choose Him as their Savior. Just as soon as they decide the sign will go up: Vacancy (if they decide NO) or Welcome to your new Home (if they decide YES).
Which will it be for you? I’m looking forward to a wonderful room in my Father’s home. Will it be just down the hall from the Banquet Room where I can serve and be served? Looking forward to a great Banquet With The King!
Don't
let your hearts be troubled. Jesus knew even then that our hearts would
sometimes be “troubled” and so He encouraged us not to worry. Don’t worry…even
in the midst of this COVID-19 pandemic. God has a plan. Ultimately, it includes
a new home for us in His house. I like that. When I was eight years old my
family moved into a brand new house. It was wonderful. We carried all our
belongings from our old house into our new house. When we move into our new
Heavenly Home we won’t be taking any treasures from this earthly home into our
Father’s House. Jesus told His disciples and followers not to store up any
treasure here on earth.
Don't store up treasures here on earth,
where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and
steal. Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and
thieves do not break in and steal. Wherever your treasure is, there the desires
of your heart will also be. Matthew 6:19-21
This reminds me that God has promised to give us the desires of our hearts. What does your heart desire?
Take delight in the LORD, and he will give
you your heart's desires. Psalm 37:4
Don’t store up treasures here on earth. Is your home full of treasures? Do you worry that someone will break in and steal them? No worries. Don’t let your heart be troubled. God give us more encouragement in Psalm 37, so read all of Psalm 37 soon. Put your treasures…your valued things like relationships…in God’s care. Trust in God. Take delight in the Lord. He has a wonderful plan. Seek God and love Him with all of your heart, soul, mind and strength. Trust Him. Everything is going to be alright. No worries. No anxiety, my friend.
Prayer ~ Lord Jesus, help us not to worry and not to store up treasures here on earth. That is sometimes hard to do as we sit here with too much time on our hands due to the COVID stay home mandate and Amazon at our fingertips. There isn’t anything we really need—besides the food that You so generously supply. When everything is ready we are looking forward to a great Banquet with You one day…but in the meantime, please provide not only for us, but for those who are in desperate need for food or financial assistance due to this pandemic. May they see Your hand of mercy and love.
Verses
of Salvation ~ The LORD rescues the godly; he is their fortress in times of
trouble. The LORD helps them, rescuing them from the wicked. He saves
them, and they find shelter in him. Psalm 37:39-40.
Are you a godly person? He saves those who are godly. Seek God while there is still time.
