KNOW
THAT YOU HAVE ETERNAL LIFE! That says it all. What more could anyone say?
You have a pretty face—that will change with age…that you have a lot of
money—that could change if the stock market fails or your health fails…that you
have a nice family…that too is only temporary here on earth. We will all die
one day—but our souls will live on forever. Where we live forever depends on
our choices here on earth. If we choose to believe in Jesus…then our eternal
home is in Heaven with Him. If we choose not
to believe in Jesus as God’s Son, then our eternal home is not heaven—but apart from God.
And this is the way to have
eternal life—to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent
to earth. John
17:3.
The
Apostle John wrote to us as a reminder…I have written this to you who believe in
the name of the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life. 1 John 5:13. Sometimes we need a
reminder. This is not our home…
For this world is not our permanent home; we
are looking forward to a home yet to come. Hebrews 13:14
Portrayal of Jesus and His Disciples at the Last Supper |
In His conversation at His Last Supper, Jesus
told His disciples…and us…
There is more than enough room in my
Father's home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to
prepare a place for you? John 14:2
Jesus
is preparing a place…a home in Heaven for each of His followers. Will you be
there?
Prayer
~ Father God, I thank You always for all of my sisters and brothers in Christ,
making mention of them in my prayers; constantly bearing in mind their work of
faith and labor of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in Your
presence, knowing Your choice of them; for our gospel did not come to us in
word only, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction;
just as You know what kind of people we proved to be for Your sake. We wait for
Your Son from heaven, whom You raised from the dead, that is Jesus, who rescues
us from the wrath to come. from 1 Thessalonians 1:2-5, 10 NASB. Thanks be to
You God—for Your plan for mankind, Your mercy and the wonderful home that Jesus
is creating for us in Your Heaven. Help us to make good choices and to live in
a way that pleases You.
