Trust? Yourself or the Lord?

Those who trust their own insight are foolish, but anyone who walks in wisdom is safe. Proverbs 28:26.

Trust…to be secure—to feel safe—confident.
The Israelites trusted themselves and look where it got them.
"Flee, save your lives, that you may be like a juniper in the wilderness. For because of your trust in your own achievements and treasures, even you yourself will be captured; and Chemosh will go off into exile together with his priests and his princes. Jeremiah 48:6-7 NASB

The Bible gives us lots of direction to “trust”—especially to trust in the Lord.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Proverbs 3:5.

But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31

Those who listen to instruction will prosper; those who trust the LORD will be joyful. Proverbs 16:20.

I am teaching you today—yes, you—so you will trust in the LORD. Proverbs 22:19
Do you have confidence in your own ideas and insights—or do you seek God’s wisdom and feel secure living according to His will and His way?

Prayer ~ Lord, I trust You, Your perfect will and wisdom. Thank you for guiding my life.
