Avoid Fighting

Avoiding a fight is a mark of honor; only fools insist on quarreling. Proverbs 20:3

People quarrel. Cities and states disagree. Nations have disputes—they quarrel. I remember fighting with my sister and brothers. We fought about whose turn it was to do the dishes, feed the dog, take out the garbage or some other chore around the house…but we somehow remained friends. Some people—the fools in this world—just pick a fight just to interact—to make themselves look good. Be careful to avoid fighting. Honor God and you will be honored. Seems pretty simple and straightforward.

Prayer ~ Lord God, open our eyes to see that with Your wisdom we can avoid fighting. We don’t want to be fools who insist on quarreling.
