My child, listen to what I say, and treasure
my commands. Tune your ears to wisdom, and concentrate on understanding. Cry
out for insight, and ask for understanding. Search for them as you would for
silver; seek them like hidden treasures. Then you will understand what it means
to fear the LORD, and you will gain knowledge of God. Proverbs 2:1-5
Wisdom. Listen once again…tune your ears
and concentrate on what God is teaching us. Ask for Understanding and Insight…and
you will get knowledge about God…and with that Wisdom. Those are much better
gifts than silver or even gold.
Tune your ears. Much like we tune in a
radio station, we can tune in or tune out whatever we hear. We have the
choice…hear it or don’t hear it. Fine tune your ears that you would find the
hidden treasure—not garbled—but distinctly clear and true. Do you hear Wisdom
calling to you? Are you tuning your ears to hear it?
Prayer
~ Lord God, help us to tune our ears to hear Your Wisdom distinctly. Give us a
voice to ask for insight and understanding—so that we may be filled with
knowledge of You.
