Do You Treat Wisdom Like Your Sister?

Lent – Day 18
Follow my advice, my son; always treasure my commands. Obey my commands and live! Guard my instructions as you guard your own eyes. Tie them on your fingers as a reminder. Write them deep within your heart. Love wisdom like a sister; make insight a beloved member of your family. Proverbs  7:1-4

That is the command of the day. Love…or treasure wisdom and understanding like beloved family members. I love my family—treasure them, second only to God. Treasure Wisdom. That was Solomon’s advice to his son and to young men of his day. He is giving us the same advice. It isn’t just a suggestion to follow. It is a lifestyle to uphold—to be obedient to purity. Solomon is saying to ALWAYS treasure his commands—not just to keep them sometimes—but always. That’s the way it is with God’s commands…we must live by them—obey. Obey…not just tie a string around our finger to remind us—but actually live our lives in a way that is pleasing to the Lord. Do you love wisdom? Are wisdom and understanding treasured parts of your life?

Prayer ~ Lord God, I hear You speaking through Solomon. Follow advice…obey Your commands. You are so worthy—and I love Your Wisdom and Understanding. Write Your commands and instructions on my heart—that I may live to please You.
