Lent
– Day 10
For wisdom is more profitable than silver,
and her wages are better than gold. Wisdom is more precious than rubies;
nothing you desire can compare with her. She offers you long life in her right
hand, and riches and honor in her left. Proverbs 3:14-16
If Wisdom were a commodity then trading it
on the stock market would be interesting! More valuable than gold, silver or
stock in major companies. Can you imagine people calling out prices for buying
and selling Wisdom? Would there be degrees of wisdom…a little wisdom from the
east coast verses a little wisdom from the west coast? Or can wisdom be viewed
as a precious stone—a jewel that you could put on earrings, a necklace or ring
for your finger? What color would it be—or would it appear as a rainbow? Wisdom
is more precious than rubies which are considered the most valuable of all
gemstones—to some even more valuable than diamonds. How would you value wisdom?
Wisdom is offering you long life and honor. God Himself offers us eternal
life…that is long life—forever. He honors us by giving us the love that we
don’t deserve…or expect. God is the giver of Wisdom…of Life and of Love. What
can you give God in return? He doesn’t expect anything—He just freely gives.
Prayer
~ Thank You, Heavenly Father for the ultimate gift of Your Son—the sacrifice
for mankind’s sin. We are so undeserving of Your Love and Wisdom—but we humbly
accept what You have so graciously offered us—Life everlasting—freedom from
sin—Love abundant and overflowing. We praise You—and adore You.
Friday’s
Feast at the King’s Table
Good food, health, and Wisdom seem to go
hand in hand. The best place start is with the inside out. Feed your inside
good food…or in this case…good tea. Good anti-inflammatory—especially important
during this wintery season of the year when germs abound.
