Jesus was with His disciples in the Upper
Room after His resurrection. He walked into the room…without going through the
locked door. Hmmm. What does that tell us about His resurrected body? He could
walk through walls. Our resurrected bodies will one day be like His.
Earthly people are like the earthly man, and
heavenly people are like the heavenly man. Just as we are now like the earthly
man, we will someday be like the heavenly man. What I am saying, dear brothers
and sisters, is that our physical bodies cannot inherit the Kingdom of God.
These dying bodies cannot inherit what will last forever. But let me reveal to
you a wonderful secret. We will not all die, but we will all be transformed! It
will happen in a moment, in the blink of an eye, when the last trumpet is
blown. For when the trumpet sounds, those who have died will be raised to live
forever. And we who are living will also be transformed. For our dying bodies
must be transformed into bodies that will never die; our mortal bodies must be
transformed into immortal bodies. 1 Corinthians 15:48-53 NLT.
We will be transformed…just like Jesus.
Will we be able to walk through walls? In heaven will there be walls like we
have on earth? So many questions…so little time.
Jesus breathed on the disciples and they
received the Holy Spirit. Then again at Pentecost about three thousand people
received the Holy Spirit. And everyone present was filled with the
Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them
this ability. Acts 2:4 NLT. People can receive the Holy Spirit in groups or
individually. One amazing thing now is that unlike those in the Old Testament
times, the Holy Spirit remains…abides in us.
Prayer
~ Holy Spirit—come and live with us. We receive You into our hearts and lives
that we would be transformed like Jesus—spiritually obedient and eternally
loving.
