Restoration. To turn my very inner being—my
soul—back to God. When my soul is focusing on God, I am at peace. Jehovah-Shalom—the
Lord is at Peace. We often pray for peace for others…or ourselves. It is this
Jehovah-Shalom, to whom we are praying, that through the Holy Spirit can provide
that peace that passes all understanding.
I waited patiently for the LORD to help me,
and He turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the pit of despair,
out of the mud and the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as
I walked along. He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our
God. Many will see what He has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in
the LORD. Psalm 40:1-3 NLT.
The Lord is worthy of our trust and praise.
He restores our souls—not so that we can be happy, happy, happy forever more…but
so that we can reach others for Him. They will put their trust in our God…our
Lord—and the future population in heaven will increase. Isn’t that our goal…to
bring others to salvation…to make disciples?
Go therefore and make disciples of all the
nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy
Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with
you always, even to the end of the age. Matthew 28:19-20
God is with us…He will never leave us or
forsake us. Claim that promise…as well as His peace in your heart and soul
today.
Prayer
~ Holy Spirit, Lord God, fill us anew today with Your peace, joy and love that
we may go out into our homes, neighborhoods, and communities to reach others
for You.
