Hope. There is a song that we used to sing
frequently on Sunday morning that is about HOPE.
My
life is in You, Lord.
My
strength is in You, Lord.
My
hope is in You, Lord.
In
You, it’s in You.
We can have hope in the Lord. He gives us
comfort, strength, protection, all that we need…or even ask for—with an
outpouring of His gracious love. Our hope is built on nothing less than Jesus
blood and righteousness—from another song.
I’m attending a Women’s Retreat at our
church with a theme of A Gathering
of Hope. One of the speakers emphasized that hope is waiting for what we
know will happen. We know that Christ will return for His followers…and that we
will be with Him eternally in Heaven. That is hope. But we can have hope today…as
well as tomorrow and a thousand years from now. Likewise, Israel can have hope
now, as well as in the future, for the Lord is with them…and He can save them—redeem
them from sin and from their enemies. The psalmist here—maybe it was David, but
that is not specified—encourages Israel to trust God and to have hope. Like
Israel, do you have hope—hope in the Lord?
Prayer
~ God—my hope is in You. Help me to share this hope that You have given me. Bless
Israel with an abundance of Your hope…for each individual and for the nation.
