Jesus just wanted to honor His Father—the One who sent Him to earth. So
Jesus spoke the truth. He never lied. Wow—He was human, but perfect. Sinless,
including no lying—which is also known as “false witness.” You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor…is one of
the Ten Commandments found in Exodus 20:16. Jesus was perfect…no matter how
hard we try, we cannot be perfect, but we can do all things through Christ who
strengthens us (Philippians 4:13). That includes honoring God and Christ and
not seeking to honor ourselves. Can you do that?
RSVP: Jesus is calling us to bring glory and honor God, by honoring Him, not
ourselves. How will you respond to His call today?
Prayer~ Jesus, I don’t want to be like the Romans that Paul wrote about…
For even though they knew God, they
did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations,
and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools….
Romans 1:21-22. Guard my heart and help me to honor You and the Heavenly Father
in all I think, say, and do.
