April 30 – Be A Servant

And Jesus answered them, saying, "The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit. He who loves his life loses it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it to life eternal. If anyone serves Me, he must follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also; if anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him. Now My soul has become troubled; and what shall I say, 'Father, save Me from this hour'? But for this purpose I came to this hour. Father, glorify Your name." Then a voice came out of heaven: "I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again." John 12:23-28

Jesus didn't have any road blocks in His life that made Him change direction. God the Father knew the plan even before He said, "Let Us make man in our own image." Spiritual image. He knew Jesus would be born as a human baby in a humble stable...that He would heal, feed and minister to thousands of people...and that He would die on a cross--suffering an agonizing death all for the forgiveness of sin. All at a spiritual level.  That is where sin happens--at a spiritual level. When Eve took that first bite of the forbidden fruit--and handed it to Adam--sin happened. A road block for humanity. Considering what Eve and Adam did, it is not wise to share food that you’ve partially eaten--even if it is a close family member. Germs--road blocks. Spiritual germs were shared between those two that infected all of mankind. Jesus' blood is the only thing that can wash away--cleanse us from those spiritual germs. Are spiritual roadblocks keeping you from following, serving or glorifying the Lord?

RSVP: Jesus is offering you the opportunity to follow and serve Him--and thus be honored by the Father--as we glorify Him. How will you respond to Him today?

Prayer~  Jesus open my eyes that I may see and avoid the spiritual roadblocks ahead of me. I want to follow and serve You
